The Grand Hall as its name suggest, can accommodate up to 4,000 people at a time. The Grand Hall is used for convocation ceremony, university official ceremony and also served as an examination hall. Its two storey building comprises of the lobby, main hall, dining hall and VVIP room. The Grand Hall created an unforgettable memory when former Prime Minister, Tun Mahathir and wife received their honorary doctorate during the 5th Convocation Ceremony in 2009.

ABOUT UTeM

Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) was established on 1^st December 2000, under Section 20 of the University and University College Act 1971 (Act 30) through the incorporation of Kolej Universiti Teknikal Kebangsaan Malaysia (KUTKM) in 2001. On February 1, 2007, KUTKM underwent a rebranding and was officially renamed Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). As Malaysia’s first technical university and the country’s 14^th public university, UTeM pioneers a “practice and application-oriented” teaching and learning approach in higher technical education. This aligns with the government’s vision to meet the growing demand for highly skilled technical professionals in Malaysia’s industries.
